Spousal Sponsorship

Bringing your partner to Canada is a deeply personal application. We help you tell your story with clear, organized evidence that shows a genuine relationship.

Who can sponsor

  • Canadian citizens and permanent residents aged 18 or older. Permanent residents must live in Canada.
  • Sponsors must sign a 3-year undertaking to financially support the sponsored partner.
  • Certain situations, such as receiving social assistance for reasons other than disability or some previous sponsorship defaults, may make you ineligible.

Relationship types

Spouse

Legally married, with a marriage recognized in the country where it took place and in Canada.

Common-law partner

Living together in a marriage-like relationship for at least 12 continuous months.

Conjugal partner

In a committed relationship of at least one year where barriers prevented living together or marrying.

Inland vs. outland

Choosing the right stream affects travel, open work permit options and appeal rights.

How we help

  1. Eligibility & stream selection: we pick inland or outland based on your circumstances.
  2. Relationship evidence: we organize timelines, photos, communication, finances and declarations.
  3. Forms & submission: we prepare complete sponsor and applicant packages.
  4. Open work permit: we apply for one for eligible inland applicants while the sponsorship is processed.
