How the program works
- Sponsors first submit an Interest to Sponsor form when IRCC opens an intake. Invitations are then issued from that pool.
- In recent years, IRCC has invited sponsors from previously submitted pools rather than accepting new forms every year. We track each announcement for our clients.
- Sponsors must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) plus 30% for each of the three tax years before applying, as shown on CRA notices of assessment.
- Sponsors sign a 20-year undertaking (10 years in Quebec) to support the sponsored parents or grandparents.
The Super Visa lets parents and grandparents stay in Canada for up to five years at a time. It is often the best option while you wait.
How we help
- Income planning: we review your tax history against MNI requirements, including a co-signer where one is allowed.
- Ready-to-file preparation: we gather documents early so you can meet tight invitation deadlines.
- Complete application: we prepare the sponsor and applicant forms, family information and supporting evidence.
Immigration programs and requirements are updated frequently. This page is general information, not legal advice. Book a consultation for guidance based on the rules in effect for your case.
